DOCOMO ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR A SECOND UNDERSEA CABLE WITH THE CNMI GOVERNMENT PLEDGING 3 MILLION DOLLARS IN SUPPORT

Atisa is the Chamorro word for accelerate.  It's also the name of Docomo's planned undersea cable, 175 miles in length and will connect Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan.  Docomo says the entire project will cost $25 million.

CPA Board Member Kim Hinds says they will discuss among other issues wait times at the Saipan International Airport for tourists entering the Commonwealth.  Hinds says this meeting will work into the Master Plan for expanding the Airport consistent with anticipated growth.
